Join NESEA for an exciting Pro Tour of this 7,744 square foot two story wood frame office building, serving as the headquarters of the Southeast Land Trust of New Hampshire. The building and associated site infrastructure were designed to meet a high level of energy efficiency and resiliency, with a special focus on locally harvested building materials.  A large solar array was installed to achieve a net zero energy use goal. The building is 100% electric and operates off solar renewable energy.

The team of speakers, led by event host Chapman Construction/Design, hopes that this project can serve as an example of how to design an attractive, low energy building with low embodied carbon. Attendees will learn about how the locally harvested wood was sourced and used on the interior of the building and about the careful attention paid to air sealing and insulation detailing, resulting in a welcoming building which uses a minimal amount of energy. Low embodied carbon materials were prioritized, including densely packed cellulose insulation, locally harvested ash, which was milled and used for trim work within the building, and locally produced exterior cladding which was heat treated for durability and requires no coating. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from multiple members of the project team, and to meet other professionals in the industry during the tour.

Update: Thank you to our attendees and sponsors for making this Pro Tour a success. We have assembled some photos from the event here.
