The Workforce Development Issue

Does your company have an innovative approach to recruiting? Have you worked on a project that was spearheaded by someone new to the workforce? Are you a student or emerging professional who would like to share your experiences with the NESEA community? Do you have a success story or lessons learned from a mentorship or training program?

NESEA’s newly adopted Strategic Plan articulates that we will “build on and expand emerging professionals programming” as a top priority over the next five years. As a reflection of that priority, the theme of the next issue of BuildingEnergy magazine will be workforce development. We are accepting proposals from our community that broadly connect to this theme and the strategic goal. We hope to feature a mix of challenges, solutions, experiences, case studies, and personal stories.

There are two ways to be involved with this issue:

  1. Propose Content: Submit your ideas for inclusion in the magazine, which is curated, authored, and reviewed by members of the NESEA community. All proposals connecting to the general theme of workforce development/emerging professionals will be considered, but we are particularly interested in proposals that would include a student or new professional as part of the authoring team. Proposals should be vendor-neutral and commercial-free. The RFP closes Thursday, June 30. Find the link to the proposal form here (you must log in to access the form).
  2. Advertise: Advertising in BuildingEnergy magazine is an easy way to share your products and services with thousands of high-performance building and renewable energy professionals across the Northeast and beyond. NESEA Business Members receive 15% off. Purchase an ad here or by contacting Ryan Dovenmuehler at ryan@eandmsales.com.
