ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Simons Architects is an innovative, high-performance design studio located in Portland, Maine that values excellent design, teamwork, attention to detail, hard work, and creative problem-solving. We believe that well-designed buildings do more than resolve spatial programs; they enhance the human experience.

We are committed to the design process and embrace an open studio culture. Weekly design presentations, pin-ups, and charrettes help us keep our design brains active. Who we are hoping to find:

A collaborative, creative, self-motivated hard-working architectural designer to join our team

Experience Level: 4-6 years of professional design experience working on commercial and institutional projects

A professional architectural degree, BArch or MArch

Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently

Ability to work efficiently in small flexible teams

Ideal candidate will be in process of pursuing professional licensure

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong Revit, AutoCad, Adobe Suite, and Sketch-up skills

Knowledge of LEED, Passivhaus, Living Building Challenge desirable

Positive attitude

 

On Covid-19:

While many members of our team are currently working remotely, a candidate should expect to be in the office in Portland, Maine, for the first few months of employment (with Covid Protocols and safety measures in place). Remote working can be considered after that time.
