BMA, an award-winning architecture, sustainable design, and consulting firm in Saranac Lake, N.Y. seeks a designer to join our team. To thrive here, you’ll also need outstanding technical skills and the desire to work closely with everybody on our team. Designers at BMA collaborate with the Principal and Project Architects and assist on projects from concept through construction. Telecommuting/remote work options available.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively in collaboration with the Principal and Project Architect.
• Produce 2D and 3D design deliverables.
• Research building systems, building assemblies, and other potential specifications.
• Attend and document client, consultant, and contractor meetings.

Key Skills

• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• Strong organization and the ability to check work for accuracy, omissions, and legibility.
• BIM modeling experience (Archicad preferred).
• Digital graphic experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Project management experience with Microsoft Office.

Experience/Qualifications

Required:

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
• A passion for learning.
• An interest in sustainability, high performance, low carbon design.

Preferred:

• Undergraduate or master’s degree in architecture.
• Commitment to obtaining professional registration.
• LEED accreditation.
• Passive House certification (CPHC or CPHD&C).
