New Energy Works is adding a Fabrication Shop Supervisor/Production Manager to assist in our transition into the semi-automated, pre-panelization enclosure market for custom homes and buildings. The emphasis, as all things New Energy Works, will be on high levels of quality components, service, energy efficiency, and sustainability in materials.
Here’s the picture: New Energy Works has long been known for our fine craft with timber framing and heavy timber construction. Less known is our equally long commitment to extremely high-performance building envelopes, enclosing both timber framed and non-timber framed spaces. We believe and practice the basic truth that we have one earth—it needs us to do better in our building arts than we have been. Our present pre-panelization program is about to get a serious influx in equipment and investment so we can expand our efforts to make High Performance Easier (HPEz), bringing more such enclosures to quality builders and homeowners in the Finger Lakes and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone capable to help implement and manage this effort in a job shop setting. The ideal candidate may posses some or all of these skills:
• Planning and management
• Machine operation
• Logistics experience
• Resource management including material procurement
• Personnel management
• Bonus: Understanding of building science and sustainable materials
This position will require 5+ years in shop supervision/production management with an eye towards material procurement, flow, and equipment operation. Work within the built environment is important, though not a stopper for the right candidate.
New Energy Works is an employee-owned, 30+ year old firm in Farmington, NY whose basic tenets are that business is the strongest vehicle we have to bring about a better world. We work within the premise that People, Planet, and Profit all share equal roles in our decision-making process.
Think you’re a good fit, please apply today with resume and cover letter explaining why to office@newenergyworks.com.
