Position Summary:
The Energy Rebate Specialist plays a key role in facilitating the execution of EN‑POWER’s services. They manage and facilitate rebate and incentive applications for various rebate programs administered by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) and utility companies, including but not limited to NYSERDA FlexTech, and ConEdison and National Grid rebate programs.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Support stakeholder and project management of company-wide rebate projects, particularly those for NYSERDA, ConEdison, and National Grid, by:
- managing and submitting program applications, including writing statement of work, energy data submission and necessary forms, photos, and other documentation;
- working with ENPG managers, engineers, auditors, and other staff to gather information and respond to stakeholders regarding project questions, concerns, and guidelines;
- working with ENPG Energy Data Managers to ensure timely collection of energy data, including but not limited to database entry, requests, and analysis;
- managing, scheduling, and conducting client on-boarding calls with programming staff;
- assisting with managing workflow, and requests for site visits and proposals;
- helping identify and recommend clients for programs as directed by senior ENPG management; and
- supporting and helping manage deliverable creation, including technical reports and completion documentation with lead engineer and auditor.
- Support administration of company-wide rebate projects, particularly those for NYSERDA, ConEdison, and National Grid, by:
- managing the influx of new project contracts to ensure accuracy, project scope, and proper recordkeeping;
- organizing and updating project details in company database, including proactively identifying issues, recommending solutions to improve processes, and communicating with managers regarding project details and billing statuses; and
- working with ENPG managers and bookkeeper to monitor/support proper client billing.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/studies, engineering, business, or economics, or other equivalent experience
- Previous 3+ years continuous corporate experience, preferably in the sustainability or energy sector, a plus
- Knowledge of energy efficiency concepts, clean energy, sustainability, carbon emissions, building energy use, public policy initiatives, energy industry market business trends, and rebate/incentive programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with significant expertise in Excel
- Possess ability to perform physical tasks including but not limited to: Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time, reading and recording information on handwritten forms and computer screens
- Authorized to work in the United States
