As Rethinking Power Management’s Sustainability and Decarbonization Strategy Manager, you will manage existing client relationships, and ensure we are providing stellar consulting services. As part of our team, you will be responsible for implementing initiatives to reach our client’s sustainability goals. Initiatives will focus on energy efficiency, decarbonization and resilience planning.
Key Responsibilities
For Our Clients
● Manage the overall direction of client sustainability projects including setting goals, managing implementation, and measuring progress.
● Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, contractors to ensure they are aligned with the client’s sustainability goals.
● Collaborate with RPM engineers, providing a strategic perspective to the technical aspects of internal and external projects.
● Write sustainability performance reports.
● Technical report review.
● Analysis of energy and carbon data.
For RPM
● The role combines elements of strategy, policy, operations (data collection process implementation, validation, attestation), team management and development, advocacy, project management and support for working groups against the delivery and reporting of targets aligned with business goals.
● Identify team learning opportunities and support plan/budgeting to execute.
● Proactively anticipates team needs and obligations and is quick to implement solutions for managing what lies ahead.
● Proactively develops process improvements and efficiencies without sacrificing data integrity and internal control compliance.
● Monitor industry trends related to sustainability in order to identify future opportunities for growth or risk areas that may require mitigation efforts.
● Prioritizes and recommends content for inclusion in marketing activities such as social media and public thought leadership.
Qualifications
• BA/BS in environmental policy, engineering, computer science or other related fields; Master’s degree preferred but not required
• 5+ years of experience in corporate sustainability consulting and/or commercial building decarbonization
• Significant cross-functional interaction and coalition building experience
• Excellent planning, analytical and communication skills
• Strong writing and editing skills; grant writing experience desired
• Strong Excel and data management skills
• Familiarity with one or more building certification projects such as Passive House, Energy Star, enterprise green communities, living building challenge, LEED
• Capable of synthesizing large amounts of data and aligning to relevant content
• Hybrid work structure familiarity, with ability to travel locally as needed by project pipeline
Strong preference for candidates familiar with:
• Massachusetts solar and decarbonization programs and grants, other federal, state offerings
• Solar PV, solar thermal, and other renewable and alternative technologies
• Global sustainability frameworks such as GRI, TCFD
• Building envelope improvement strategies
• HVAC systems
• Building automation and control systems
