In this role you will:
- conduct project goal setting and coordination meetings;
- serve as manager for the full certification process;
- provide comments and technical guidance to the larger team on how to best incorporate certification requirements within the larger framework/goals of the project;
- interface with all disciplines involved in the design and construction process (including both within and outside of HGA);
- complete certification Credit Forms and supporting documentation as applicable;
- work with other members of the project team to teach certification compliance processes;
- work collaboratively with other members of the project team;
- perform quality control (QC) review of design documents for compliance with certification requirements;
- work on projects touching many aspects of sustainability in addition to working in their primary areas of responsibility; and
- other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in one of the following areas: Architecture, (architecture landscape, interior design), Engineering (mechanical, civil, structural), Planning (urban/transportation/environmental planning, urban design), Building Operations (facility management, property management), Environmental Science (ecology, biology, environmental management), or demonstrated competency through a combination of another degree not listed and years of experience with sustainability certifications.
- Minimum years of experience 5 years.
- LEED AP credentialing required, with specialty expertise BD+C, ID+C preferred.
- Experience with WELL and LEED v4 required.
- Other credentials such as WELL AP and Fitwel (a plus).
- Knowledge and interest in building science principles.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with reading and reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and construction submittals.
- Past experience managing WELL, LEED, Living Building and/or other sustainable systems certification process(es) on commercial projects.
- Bluebeam knowledge to create and mark-up drawings efficiently and effectively.
- Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
- Attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently across multiple projects.
- Meet deadlines and be flexible to changing deadlines.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence and integrity.
- Focus and high level of self motivation.
- Ability to work independently as well as in close collaboration with other staff members and multiple client project teams.
- Ability to teach and mentor team members with different expertise to support knowledge-sharing and elevating the firm’s overall expertise in sustainable design.
- Ability to travel to HGA office and/or for project meetings (min. once per month)
