Staff Architect with 5-8 yrs experience (full-time)

We are hoping to find:

  • a collaborative, creative, self-motivated, and organized individual to join our team
  • 5-8 years of professional experience, preferably working on commercial and institutional projects.
  • a professional architectural degree, BArch or March
  • ideal candidate will be a licensed professional in architecture or currently pursuing licensure
  • strong work ethic and ability to take initiative
  • research, plan, and develop building projects for SA on behalf of clients.
  • apply knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials effectively at all stages of project development.
  • consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
  • plan layout of project drawing set and help integrate and coordinate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. Prepare scaled drawings and contract documents.
  • Creative building design studies and highly detailed construction documents.
  • assist Project Manager during construction, adapting plans according to circumstances and resolve problems that may arise during construction.
  • travel to building sites, proposed locations, and client meetings as needed, and as directed by Project Manager.
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • self-starter with ability to work efficiently and oversee all pieces of a project.
  • experience with all phases of project from Schematic Design through
  • Construction Administration.
  • strong Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, and 3D Modeling skills
  • positive attitude with creative problem solving.
  • individual who values hard work and is a team player.
  • positive attitude with creative problem solving
  • contribute to office dialogue and culture of design excellence.
  • knowledge of LEED, Passivhaus, and Living Building Challenge is desirable
