Architect / Project Manager

Estes Twombly + Titrington Architects is an award winning 5 person firm in Newport, RI. We specialize in efficient, small to midsize contemporary houses that incorporate a range of sustainable building techniques. We generally work in teams of two or three people, taking the whole house from initial meetings to final walk-throughs. Recently completed projects have been published in the NYTimes and Residential Design Magazine. The firm was recognized by Forbes in 2024 as one of America’s Top 200 Residential Architects.

We are looking for an Architect or Designer with an interest in wood frame construction, passive house construction or certification, and in advancing sustainable building. Candidates should have a B. Arch or M. Arch degree and between 3 and 10 years work experience.

Responsibilities include:
o Construction document set development including detailing, coordination, and specifications
o Assist on programming & schematic design
o Organize and lead client and consultant meetings
o Materials and systems research and selection
o Town and coastal approvals
o Structural and mechanical development and coordination
o Assist with builder selection and contract negotiation
o Construction administration including site visits
