Here Comes the Sun – Applications of Solar Energy

The NESEA website will be offline for a system upgrade most of the day on Saturday, July 19th.

We can make better buildings when we understand the solar resource. First we’ll use simple tools to calculate how much sun reaches a given surface. Then we’ll look at applications for heating, cooling, hot water, electricity, and lighting, with a focus on defining the task and applying the sun to serve it. A recent project by South Mountain Company that incorporated many strategies will serve as a case study.
