General Description and Responsibilities: Aurora is searching for a Job Captain to join our architectural design staff. As an integral part of the design team, the Job Captain is responsible for guiding projects from pre-construction through construction completion, incorporating creative and constructible design solutions that satisfy client goals. In addition, the Job Captain will be expected to collaborate with the construction division to provide full architectural services to our unique clients.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, while maintaining attention to detail and staying organized.
Responsibilities:
• Create great design solutions that accomplish client goals (stylistic, budgetary, schedule) and communicate these solutions effectively to Aurora’s design and construction teams.
• Work in Revit to compile organized construction document sets and specifications that are both constructible and effectively communicate design intent. Develop technical details and product specifications.
• Maintain positive working client relationships. Work with clients to determine the desired budget, schedule, and specifications and develop projects accordingly. Provide frequent project updates and communicate proactively.
• Attend and/or conduct on-site meetings with clients, vendors, subcontractors and/or suppliers as required.
• Adhere to applicable building codes and work with city agencies to prepare permit submissions for approval.
• Coordinate with other professionals, such as lead carpenters, project managers, architects, engineers, and landscape designers to ensure job success.
• Prepare presentation graphics, including schematic plans, elevations, and renderings.
• Estimate finish material requirements and costs and present design to the client for approval.
• Work with the client to obtain and finalize all selection specification information and assist with FFE purchasing.
• Guide clients through the design and placement of kitchen cabinetry orders and other custom millwork.
• Actively participate in team discussions and contribute positively to the Aurora’s working environment.
Position Qualifications:
• 5 years minimum of experience working in architectural / design services.
• Proficiency working in Revit.
• Experience working independently to create full construction documents.
• Working knowledge of building codes and permitting processes.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 a year
