Betsy L. Ames is the Executive Director of the Northeast Home Energy Rating System Alliance and is a webinar producer for Webinar-Host.com. She is a graduate of Oberlin College, with a B.A. in Sociology and Women’s Studies. Her professional background includes fundraising and database management for a variety of non-profits, as well as, over 15 years as a physician recruitment consultant. She holds a Permaculture Design Certification (PDC), Group Peer Support (GPS) certification, and is trained a facilitator on ending White Supremacy and Anti-Semitism. Betsy's interests lie at the intersection of economic, social, and environmental justice, with a focus on creating regenerative systems that can transform both internal and external landscapes, including the built environment. She currently resides in Northampton, MA and is writing a book; the working title is Blameless Yet Responsible: Healing the Numbness that Drives Obesity, White Nationalism, and Climate Change. In her spare time she enjoys playing piano and has been known to carve a political pumpkin, or two!
