Hannah Debelius is a physical scientist in the Building Technologies Office (BTO) of the U.S. Department of Energy. On the Commercial Buildings Integration team, Hannah is dedicated to catalyzing energy efficiency and decarbonization in commercial buildings through partnerships with private-sector building owners in the Better Buildings Initiative and overseeing research on the performance of technology systems with grid integration.
Hannah previously supported BTO as an ORISE Science and Technology Policy fellow. Before coming to the Department of Energy, Hannah was the Sustainability Outreach and Communications Manager at American University, helping AU to become the first major research university to achieve carbon neutrality, and worked in the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council. She earned a BA Environmental Policy from the College of William and Mary and MS Sustainability Management from American.
