Syracuse University and Pratt Institute will present their study for RetrofitNY exploring predominant multifamily building typologies in New York State. Using existing building inventory data and archival resources, the study identifies seven predominant low- and mid-rise building typologies in the state. Each type is characterized based on its quantity, regional distribution, and attributes relevant to high-performance retrofits (such as massing, exterior wall construction, and fenestration). This information will provide market insight to assist manufacturers in developing products to serve the emerging retrofit market.
