Materials and Design Strategy
Materials: All concrete, copper, iron and aluminum from the existing structure were recycled
Green demolition: electrical fixtures, hot water heater, vanities fixtures and air conditioners were donated
Recycled glass content in all the concrete walls
Careful attention to detail was given to the deconstruction of the existing structure.
Special architectural measures: The house is oriented for southern exposure. During the summer months, when the sun is higher, the 2’ overhangs will shade the heat gain.
Indoor Environment Description: Ultimate Air Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) was designed to provide the ultimate in fresh air throughout the home. All indoor air quality will meet EPA Indoor airPLUS program requirements.
