General Energy Use, Strategies and Systems
Energy Use:
The project contains the following systems and strategies related to building energy use:
- Super-insulated building envelope
- LED lighting with occupancy and daylight sensors
- Building Management System for control of lighting and HVAC systems
- Rooftop solar hot water system
- On-site PV parking canopy
- EV charging stations
Energy Strategies:
The guiding energy strategy for the building was to start from a lowest level of energy use possible. Through the systems and strategies listed above the project achieved a low baseline energy use level before employing the on-site PV system to offset the remaining building energy use.

Generation data is taken from PV array metering as captured continuously on PV array website. Usage numbers are provided from utility bills (Concord Electric) as logged by building meter.

Within the main parking area of the park is a RBI Parking Canopy Array with 336 qty Upsolar 315W modules - each w/ module-level DC optimizers, feeding 8 qty Solaredge SE11400A-US inverters. These are arranged on two equal-sized carport structures, single 5 degree tilt each. Azimuths 6 deg & 27 deg East of True South. |
