Saverio began his career commissioning aircraft carriers for the U.S. Navy before moving into an engineering and consulting role within the energy industry. Over the course of nearly 20 years, he has managed onsite commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, balancing and analysis for a wide range of facilities, including healthcare, commercial real estate, mission critical facilities and high-end pharmaceutical laboratories, among others.
As a proponent of energy conservation in existing buildings, Saverio has published articles, delivered multi-day training seminars, and piloted the Retro-Commissioning process for city and state agencies in New York and Connecticut. Serving as an adjunct professor for the CUNY School of Professional Studies teaching the Building Operator Certification course, Saverio has conducted training courses for local engineering unions, city agencies, healthcare and university staff, and developed and taught the 3-day Retro-Cx training course for NYSERDA.
