Larry Sherwood is the President and CEO of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, a national non-profit organization that builds the foundation for rapid adoption of clean energy and energy efficiency to benefit people, the economy, and the planet.
He previously served as IREC’s Vice President/COO, the author of the annual U.S. Solar Market Trends report, and editor of the Small Wind Newsletter. Larry is a member of Underwriters Laboratories Standard Technical Panels for PV modules and inverters. Previously, he was the Administrator for the Solar America Board for Codes and Standards, a national collaborative initiative among experts to formally gather and prioritize input from the broad spectrum of solar photovoltaic stakeholders resulting in coordinated recommendations to codes and standards making bodies.
Larry was on the staff of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association from 1979-1988, serving as Executive Director for the last three years of that time. He also served as Executive Director of the Small Wind Certification Council, the American Solar Energy Society, and as Vice Chair of the International Code Council’s Renewable Energy Advisory Council.
He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and lives in a PV-powered house in Colorado.
