Randolph Horner is Founder and Managing Director of Renewable New York, LLC, an entity both advocating for a Clean Energy Economy for New York and facilitating development and finance of Municipal-scale Microgrids, Community Distributed Generation, and Large-scale Renewables. For more than 45 years, he has been actively involved in the Sustainable Development area, including Sustainable Agriculture, Urban Revitalization, combining Building Energy Efficiency with Historic Preservation, and the evolution of Solar PV from simple generation to the Solar+Energy Storage+Grid-integration development and investment model. Starting in 2007, and continuing today, he is also Managing Director of Silicon Solution, LLC, seeking to make available long-term feasibility of cost-competitive Solar LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) through extending the asset life and productivity of PV installations. In responding to the New York City Renewable Energy RFI, he emphasized that at least 4 times the electricity requirements sought by the City should be supplied to commercial and Community-based aggregations of demand – in collaboration with Consolidated Edison’s electricity delivery as DSP (Distribution Services Provider) within the Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) proceedings, in which he has been a participant since their inception. In this way, the leadership of Mayor de Blasio and City Administration will be potentiated for long-term cost-savings for consumers City-wide and for substantial progress toward de-carbonizing New York City’s electricity consumption overall.
