Asher (he/him) is the General Manager and Salesperson for steveworks LLC, a cooperatively owned residential design/build remodeling company in the Boston-West market focused on bringing wholistic, environmentally responsible, elements to every project they work on.
Asher has been working on construction projects since middle school, a great benefit for a family-owned company. He started officially working for steveworks during school breaks in the summer of 2004 and came on board full-time in January 2012 after graduating with honors from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BS in Building and Construction Technology (BCT).
Since then, Asher has helped grow steveworks from a father, mother and son operation with 2–3 non-family employees, to a fully staffed design/build remodeling company of 10+ employees. Asher was instrumental in the decision to convert steveworks into a worker-owner cooperative in preparation for his parents’ upcoming retirement. The ownership change went into effect in January 2025.
Asher believes that good communication, and managing emotional expectations, are essential for a successful remodeling project. Furthermore, Asher firmly believes that DEI and anti-racist actions are critical components for being good builders and stewards for environmental justice and sustainability in our communities and beyond.
